Business Planning

Building a successful online business requires strategy.

  • Do you have all the information?
  • Are people searching for your product / service online?
  • Do you know who your online competition are? How will you beat them online?
  • What is your online business strategy?

The internet is the most cost effective method of reaching potential clients. But it also sees countless failures. There are exact reasons why some succeed and others don’t.

“I’ll get someone to make a modern looking website for us. I’ll get something written which tells people how good our products and services are. Then we’ll submit to search engines and perhaps pay for pay-per-click advertising. People will come and buy.”

This is a summary of the typical approach.

The beginning of any venture is planning. Without planning, there can be no direction and no destination.

There are three aspects to planning an online business:

  1. Business analysis. If you have an online business, where does it currently stand?
  2. Business strategizing . What are your goals? How do you achieve them?
  3. Market research. Who is your target market and how do you reach them?

Ideally your website (online business) would reach people who would be interested in your offers. You would know what they need and want and provide this. You would know something about your competitors. This would all help formulate a business plan that works and is a productive business.

Before business decisions are made, business processes are analyzed. Before companies design products, they research what is needed and wanted. Before marketing and advertising is done, the “buttons” people react to are surveyed.

Analysis, strategizing, and research will make your business planning successful.
